I know of a former fighter pilot, race car driver, importer and industrialist – also a bit of a scoundrel – who used to have a very nice Porsche 718 RSK.
The car was not parked in one of his many garages, but kept in his living room, on a sort of plinth.
In the mid-80s (well before the general classic car craze but still...) a Swiss collector came to see the car and literally offered him a blank cheque.
No deal.
